Ghost Walk participants will also hear tales of tragic deaths on prom night, and those who are still seen wandering the area; the story of Medium and Tarot Card Reader Madame Oliverte and the evil spirit; plus, a one-armed pool shark, ghostly footsteps in a historic home and a night in the Barber’s Ghost Room of the Geer Hotel.

The proposed bid for the communication equipment is $121,603, while the cameras cost of $73,000 will be paid largely from grant money.

An estimated crowd of more than 3,000 revelers lined up across the entrance and wound down the path inside Mineral Springs Park in Williamston on Saturday for the town’s annual Boo in the Park Halloween event.

The exhibit runs through Nov. 22.

The Town of West Pelzer, Town of Pendleton, Town of Pelzer, City of Belton, Town of Honea Path, Town of Iva, and the Anderson County School Dist. 4 Bond Referendum are on the ballot this year.

The new event replaces the Walk of Remembrance, which was subject to the weather, and continues to include a roll call of all the fallen city, county and township first responders dating back as far as 1797.

“The primary job of government is health, safety and public welfare,” said Anderson County Administrator said Burns.

“It is bittersweet to make this move, but I am excited about the new opportunity,” said Cameron. “I grew up about an hour from Savannah, and that area is home to me. I still have family members there, and I’m really excited about the job at the Chamber.” 

In a letter to senators this week, Gov. Henry McMaster said he is requiring an application that includes asking familiarity about legal issues and the candidate's sentencing philosophy. 

The funds are from the Accommodation Tax money generated by visitor who stayed in Anderson lodging locations during events. This year’s funds were up $27,000 from the previous year.

“When Anderson County hosted our first B.A.S.S. Nation Championship in 2017, the leadership of Anderson County identified the Nation Championship as a must-have event in our community,” said Neil Paul

Anderson County Council will consider tax incentives for WC Fiber, LLC, for the expansion of broadband during Tuesday’s 6:30 p.m. meeting in the historic courthouse downtown.

Justin Raines and Bradley Day took the $5,000 first-place prize with a total catch of 14.29 pounds. The team of Barrett Keel and Brody Manley won the $2,000 second-place prize with a catch of 13.46 pounds, while Larry Fleeman and Randy Fleeman won $1,000 for their third-place catch of 10.32 pounds.

Pendleton’s Fall Harvest Festival attracted a record crowd for the day’s music, arts and crafts, food and kids activities around the village green.

Live music, food and more were featured Saturday at the Anderson County Latinx Council’s second annual Hispanic Festival at the Anderson County Farmers Market.

Contestants were challenged with eating a honey sopped biscuit and then whistle. Sterling Tyner of Belton took the women’s championship, will Belton-Honea Path High School Student Cody Bailey captured the men’s crown. Each will receive $100 prize for their achievement.

The cast is pitch perfect as they move throughout the ominously told story of a family tradition of matter-of-fact murders, with some of the most unlikely members keeping score of their villainous killings.
