Saluda River Rally, Rhythm on the River Saturday
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson County is combining Dolly Cooper Park’s two largest annual events for a day-long series of activities, with the Saluda River Rally and Rhythm on the River scheduled for June 7.
The 15th annual Saluda River Rally, scheduled from 8 a.m.-1p.m., brings kayaks from multiple states to paddle the 9-mile, 3-4-hour trip down river from Dolly Cooper Park to Piedmont.
Registration includes one boat registration (no charge for additional paddlers in the same boat) and one event t-shirt. Additional merchandise will be available for purchase. Breakfast will also be available for purchase at the "A Taste of Freedom" food truck.
Camping is also available at Dolly Cooper Park on Friday and/or Saturday night for a fee, accommodating up to four adults per site. Reservations are required for camping. Alls funds raised will go to the Area 14 – Anderson County Special Olympics. Details here.
The fourth annual Rhythm on the River is set from 1-8 p.m. at Dolly Cooper Park and is a free, family-friendly outdoor music festival with food and activities for kids.
This year’s headliner is James Tucker. Other musical acts include EagleWing, Connor Chase. Details here.
Food trucks, an artisan market and KidsZone will also be featured at the event.
The festival is a joint effort of Connect Powdersville and Anderson County and is sponsored by AnMed Health.
