Nevitt Forest Celebrates S.C. Report Card Success

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

Nevitt Forest Elementary School has earned its first “Good” overall rating on the South Carolina Department of Education Report Card this year, marking a significant milestone for the school. The improved rating reflects gains in academic achievement and progress among students in grades Pre-K through 5.

The school, which serves a diverse student body with a majority of African American students and a high percentage of low-income families, demonstrated marked improvement despite ongoing challenges. Improvements in test scores, particularly in reading and math proficiency, contributed to the upgraded rating, drawing recognition from district officials who have highlighted the school’s efforts to address educational disparities.

Nevitt Forest’s advancement to a “Good” rating represents an encouraging step forward for the school community, signaling positive momentum in student learning outcomes and school performance after years of striving toward higher standards.

The school is part of Anderson School District 5 and continues to implement strategies aimed at supporting its students through targeted programs and resources designed to sustain academic progress and success throughout the district.
