The South Carolina Department of Education’s 2024-25 School Report Card highlights academic growth and achievement within Anderson School Dist. 1.
Of the district’s eligible schools, six received an “Excellent” rating, substantially exceeding state criteria, while five earned a “Good” rating for exceeding expectations. Two schools were rated “Average,” meeting the baseline criteria. Notably, no schools were rated below average or unsatisfactory. These ratings reflect a broad trend of positive performance; with nearly 85 percent of Dist. 1 schools achieving either Excellent or Good overall scores.
The annual report cards assess multiple indicators including academic achievement, school climate, student safety, graduation rates, and college and career readiness. Eight schools in the district earned special Palmetto Gold or Silver designations, awarded for high performance and progress across key areas such as academic achievement and student progress in lower grades, and additional metrics including graduation and college readiness at the high school level.
“Our teachers work tirelessly to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at high levels,” said Superintendent Dr. Seth Young. Young credited the dedication of teachers to providing high-quality education opportunities for the overall scores.
“While we remain focused on continued growth and improvement, these ratings demonstrate that our schools are on the right track,” said Brad Moore, Chief Academic Officer for School Dist. 1.
