“Feed me, Seymour!”
Market Theatre is kicking off their production of “Little Shop of Horrors” this weekend, just in time for the Halloween season. The darkly comedic musical follows the story of Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral shop assistant on Skid Row who discovers a strange, wild talking plant he names Audrey II.
The plant brings fame and fortune to the struggling shop, but its insatiable appetite for human blood and flesh leads Seymour down a dangerous path. As Audrey II grows larger and more demanding, Seymour is forced to choose between fame, love, and morality, with tragic consequences for both him and those around him. The show combines energetic Motown-inspired songs, outrageous humor, and B-movie horror vibes, culminating in a cautionary tale about ambition and the unexpected consequences of feeding one’s darkest desires.
The show runs Friday through Nov. 3. Tickets at ticket.markettheatre.org.
