Vertiv Acquires Williamston’s BMarko Structures

Observer Reports

Vertiv, riding a surge in demand for AI data center infrastructure, announced this week it has acquired BMarko Structures, a South Carolina fabricator of custom-engineered steel and wood frames, to bolster its manufacturing capabilities.

The deal brings in-house a key supplier that Vertiv has worked with for years, allowing the company to accelerate production of prefabricated systems for data centers under pressure to scale quickly, CEO Giordano Albertazzi said in a statement. BMarko, founded in 2014 and based in Williamston near Anderson County, recently expanded its plant to 560,000 square feet — a facility now folded into Vertiv’s regional operations.

The acquisition follows Vertiv’s March announcement of 800 new manufacturing jobs in Anderson County, part of a $50 million-plus expansion adding 560,000 square feet of factory space to support AI and high-performance computing. Vertiv, which already employs hundreds in the Upstate, cited the area’s skilled workforce and logistics as draws for its growing footprint, now exceeding 1 million square feet locally.
