Trick or Treat to Help Fill AIM Food Pantry

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

It’s scary how empty the AIM food pantries are getting. And the pause in SNAP benefits is going to make things worse.

AIM’s annual Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat food drive continues to help restock the shelves to feed those in our community who need a little extra help. And it doesn't end on Halloween.

For the Halloween season and beyond, you can make it possible for hundreds of families to have food on the table by donating canned goods and non-perishable items collected to stock AIM's Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry.

This event helps jump-start the upcoming holiday season and AIM is inviting the entire community to join, which hopes to provide more than 1,000 boxes of food for holiday meals for those in need.

All non-perishable food is welcome. (Avoid glass items. Please do not include items which will crush, such as bread.) Soups, canned vegetables, canned meats, rice, beans, peanut butter, and pasta are among the most requested items.

Financial donations will go even farther toward helping those in our community who need a littel extra help.

Perishable items need to be brought directly to the AIM offices. For more information, call 864-965-9077, email Sarah.Skelton@aimcharity.org or visit https://www.aimcharity.org
