Roberts Reelected as Mayor; Winbush Wins Council Seat 5

City of Anderson votes reelected Mayor Terence Roberts for a sixth term by a wide margin on Tuesday, 

In unofficial results, Roberts took 975 votes to 306 votes for Sullivan.

“I am deeply honored and immensely grateful to have won the mayoral election,” said Roberts.  “This victory belongs to all of us, and I want to extend my sincerest thanks for everyone's unwavering support and belief in our vision for a better community. Throughout this campaign, I've been inspired by our citizens' passion and commitment to making our city a place where everyone can thrive. Together we will work to address the issues that matter most to us all.”

In the race to replace the retiring Beatrice Thompson in City Council Seat 5, Tonya Winbush won over Darryl Thompson by a margin of 66 votes. Winbush received 134 votes to Thompson’s 68 in an unofficial tally.

Turnout represented less than seven percent of registered voters.

In other results from uncontested race:

Kyle Newton, Seat 1, received 219 votes

Marshall Pickens, Seat 2, received 194 votes

Jeffrey Roberts, Seat 3, received 179

Matt Harbin, Seat 7 At-Large, received 971 votes
