Registration Deadlines to Vote in November Election Approaching

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

With the November 4 elections approaching, Anderson County officials are urging residents to register to vote before a series of fast-approaching deadlines.

Residents have until Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. to register in person at the Anderson County Board of Voter Registration and Elections. Those choosing to register online at www.scvotes.gov—requiring a South Carolina driver’s license or DMV-issued ID—must do so by midnight on Oct, 5. The same Oct. 5 midnight deadline applies to forms submitted by email or fax, while mailed registration forms must be postmarked by Oct. 6.

Election officials emphasize that these staggered deadlines are necessary to ensure all new registrations are reviewed, voter eligibility confirmed, and polling places properly prepared. The process helps maintain fair and secure elections, giving enough time for the creation of poll books and correct voter assignments for precincts. Voters who have recently moved should update their registration, and anyone who has relocated to a new county must complete registration again in their current county by the posted deadlines to vote in November.

For more information, contact the Anderson County Board of Voter Registration and Elections at 864-260-4035.
