Rally Against ICE Set for Saturday Downtown

Observer Reports

A “Rally Against ICE for Human Rights” is scheduled for Saturday from 2-4 p.m. on the grounds of the Anderson County Courthouse.
The event is billed as a peaceful protest and is being hosted by “concerned citizens of Anderson County,” according to a flyer being circulated on social media.

Organizers have also planned a pre-protest poster-making session from noon-2 p.m. at the Anderson County Library.
Participants are invited to create signs and materials before walking or driving over to the courthouse for the main rally.

The event is a rally “for human rights,” signaling that participants intend to link their opposition to ICE with broader concerns about the treatment of immigrants and vulnerable communities.
The gathering is framed as a local, citizen-led effort rather than one organized by a national group, highlighting homegrown activism around immigration issues in Anderson County.
