One Last Reminder, City of Anderson Elections are Today

Eighty years ago, there were 373 registered voters eligible to vote in the City of Anderson elections.

Eighty years ago, there were 373 registered voters eligible to vote in the City of Anderson elections.

Today 16,504 city residents are registered to vote in the municipal elections. The mayor’s race will top the ballot for all voters, while the only other contested race – City Council Seat 3 – is likely to be the other most-watched competition. The rest of the roster is running unopposed.

Polls are open until 7 p.m. at these locations:

Anderson 1/1 votes at Whitehall School, 702 Whitehall Road, and Anderson 1/2 votes at Concord School, 2701 Calrossie Road. Anderson 2/1 uses Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 209 Broad Street, while Anderson 2/2 is located at Calhoun School, 1520 East Calhoun Street.

Anderson 3/1 votes at the Anderson County Library, 300 North McDuffie Street, and Anderson 3/2 and Anderson 4/2 both vote at Nevitt Forest School, 1401 Bolt Drive. Anderson 4/1 is at Old McDuffie High School, 1225 South McDuffie Street, and Anderson 5/B and Anderson 6/2 both use Southwood Academy of the Arts, 1110 Southwood Street.

Anderson 6/1 is located at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1809 North Main Street. Hammond Annex & Cox’s Creek votes at the YMCA, 201 East Reed Road, Edgewood Station A at Centerville Fire Station, 196 Sullivan Road, and Edgewood Station B at the Civic Center, 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Hammond School at Midway Elementary School, 1221 Harriett Circle, and Hopewell & Town Creek at T.L. Hanna High, 2600 Highway 81 North are also polling stations.
