Motevallo Dominates College Fishing Tournament at Green Pond

Peyton Harris and Dalton Head, the team from the University of Montevallo were crowned winners of the 2025 Collegiate Bass Fishing at Green Pond Landing on Hartwell Lake this week, beating out more than 200 other college teams to win the top prize.

The pair won the title with a two-day total weight of 37.14 pounds. Tripp Berlinsky & Bryce DiMauro from the University of North Alabama finished second, and Brody Robison & Peyton Sorrow of Montevallo finished in third.

Three local teams finished in the top 10: Emmanuel University’s Levi Seagraves Scooter Ligon finished fourth, Lander University’s Cole Taylor Clay Taylor came in seventh and Erskine College Lane Clark Tallis Morrison finished tenth.

Harris and Head entered the final day of the tournament in sixth place, just over two pounds behind out of the first-place spot. On Day 2 the pair weighed in the largest limit of bass for the entire event, with a five-bass limit of 21.29 pounds. The two anglers receive $5,000, T-H Marine Atlas Awards ($500), and the ACA logo contingency ($1,000

The University of Montevallo earned the most points of any team to compete at the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. Montevallo’s Top three highest-placing teams finished in first, third, and ninth. The three Top 10 finishes earned Montevallo 7,300 points, bringing Montevallo’s season total to 40,575. The victory in 2025 marks Montevallo’s historic fifth straight title as Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. The complete points update will be released next week.
