Market Theatre Gets Musical with "Jersey Boys"

Observer Reports

Four blue-collar kids from Jersey in the 1950s found fame and fortune from their harmonies, and became one of the most successful and long performing groups in pop music history, with hits that include “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” and “My Eyes Adored You” and “December, 1963 (Oh What A Night)”.

In 1990, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were bestowed one of the music business’ top honors: induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Market Theatre will tell the story of “Jersey Boys,” beginning this week, a musical that follows the foursome’s decades of professional success and rocky personal interactions in a play that was also a major motion picture.
