Early Voting for Honea Path Mayor Begins June 30

Early voting for the July 15 special election to fill the seat of mayor of Honea Path will open June 30. Voters can cast their ballot at the Anderson County Board of Elections and Registration Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Early voting will end July 11.
Three candidates are seeking the mayor’s office, after former Honea Path mayor Christopher Burton stepped down April 15 citing his increased work load as assistant professor of technology at Greenville Technical College:
Luther Moon, whose LinkedIn account lists his occupation as general contractor, designer, planner and computer tech.
Tina Maria Scott, who lost to Burton in the last mayoral election.
Dr. Jimmy Smith, a family physician and longtime Honea Path Fire Chief.
All three candidates will be interviewed by the Anderson Observer before early voting begins.
Voting on July 15 will be held at the following precincts:
• Chiquola Mill- Honea Path Elementary School - 806 E Greer St 29654
• Honea Path- Honea Path Middle School - 107 Brock Ave 29654
• Barkers Creek-McAdams- Barker's Creek - Baptist Church 3207 Hwy 252
• Broadmouth (Abbeville Co) Barker's Creek Baptist Church 3207 Hwy 252,
• Keowee (Abbeville Co) Barker's Creek Baptist Church 3207 Hwy 252
