Covan’s Properties LLC, has announced plans to invest approximately $3 million in building and restoration initiatives across Honea Path over the next five years.
The investment marks a major boost for the town’s ongoing redevelopment and revitalization efforts, aligning with Anderson County’s broader push to attract business investment and promote quality development throughout the region.
“They are a great family and they love their hometown,” said Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns. “This is not the first time they have stepped up and it won’t be the last.”
The project will focus on restoring historic downtown structures, enhancing commercial properties, and upgrading key community spaces. Town officials say the improvements are intended to strengthen the visual identity and economic vitality of Honea Path’s business district while creating new opportunities for local enterprise and community engagement.
“We love Honea Path and are grateful to be a part of this community,” said Jim and Stephanie H. Covan, owners of Covan’s Properties. “We feel strongly about what Honea Path is and what it can be in the future.”
Town leaders praised the project as a milestone for local economic development.
“We are thrilled to welcome this investment into Honea Path,” said Mayor Dr. Jimmy Smith. “Projects like this support our vision for a vibrant, revitalized downtown and show that our town is a place where business can grow and succeed.”
Anderson County Council representative Cindy Wilson echoed that sentiment, calling the plan “wonderfully refreshing” and a testament to local commitment.
“It’s inspiring to see citizens actively supporting and investing in our community,” Wilson said. “We look forward to the positive impact their efforts will bring to the Town of Honea Path.”
