County Jobless Rate Up in October

Anderson County’s unemployment rose in October to 2.9 percent, up from 2.5 percent in September. The rate is lower than that of October of 2022, which was 3.0 percent.

Of the county’s 94,241-member workforce, 91,241 were employed last month. The county’s rate, tied for eight lowest in South Carolina, reflects the statewide bump in unemployment in October.

Statewide, the unemployment rate, which is calculated differently from county jobless rates, remained steady at 2.9 percent.
