Council to Hold Second Reading on 2023-24 Budget Tuesday

Anderson County Council will hold second reading vote on the fiscal year 2023-24 budget as part of Tuesday’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the historic courthouse downtown. The proposed $278 million budget represents an increase of $43 million over the current year’s budget and so far, no tax increase is slated.

Council will also consider a resolution concerning an agreement between Renewable Water Resources and county to provide water and sewer service to some properties in the area around S.C. 8 and I-85.

At the 6 p.m. recognitions meeting, council will honor Girl Scout Troop 3324 cadettes Lillie Vassar, Eliza Wolken, and Olivia Clark for winning the Girl Scout Silver Award; Anderson Career & Technology Center's WPPB My Pulse Radio for winning 2023 High School Radio Station of the Year at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Student Media Conference; and the memory of Lester Lowry Brock and his lifetime of extraordinary, dedicated service to the community and country.
