AnMed Plans New 44-Acre Facility at I-85 Exit 19

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

AnMed Health announced today it intends to construct a new emergency center and health care campus on 44.25 acres near Clemson Boulevard and Interstate 85 Exit 19.

The site is at Martin Land and Eastview Drive in Anderson County, identified as tax map parcel 920008008. AnMed expects the campus to open in 2028 with around-the-clock emergency care, medical office space and additional services. It would serve a growing area near Pendleton and the I-85 corridor.

“This project is the next phase of a growth plan we’ve been thoughtfully executing for several years,” AnMed CEO William Kenley was quoted as saying in a news release. “We’re investing in locations and services that make it easier for patients to access the care they need, closer to where they live and work. This new campus is an important part of that plan, and it won’t be the last.”

AnMed has not yet specified the project’s cost, the size of its buildings or the full range of services beyond emergency care and medical offices. What it has announced is a location and a direction: rather than concentrating every new service at one address, the health system is building a wider network across Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties.

The expansion is part of health care growth in Anderson. Prisma Health recently purchased seven acres near the newly announced AnMed site.

The planned AnMed Clemson Boulevard campus follows the opening of AnMed Piedmont in 2025 near I-85 Exit 35. Other projects are at different stages of development:

AnMed Central/Clemson, near U.S. Highway 123 and 18 Mile Road, plans to offer emergency, primary and specialty care.

AnMed Windsor Place, scheduled to open later this year at 1520 E. Greenville St. in Anderson, will add orthopedics and sports medicine, ear, nose and throat care, and occupational medicine. Its opening will also make room for expanded heart and vascular services at 100 Healthy Way.

AnMed’s Seneca location, at 119 BiLo Place, is expected to add primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, with new offices opening later this year.
