Anderson's Blue Dragonfly Working to Raise Human Trafficking Awareness

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

Foothills Human Trafficking Task Force and Anderson’s The Blue Dragonfly, a 501c3 non-profit, are working together to help juvenile victims of human trafficking with advocacy, education, outreach, awareness and resources.

The group was at the Anderson County Farmers Market Saturday, handing out free backpacks and distributing other materials and information about resources available to help those victims of human trafficking and provide information to prevent future incidents.

The Blue Dragonfly operates a drop-in center in Anderson focused on providing support and services for those who have been affected by human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or who are vulnerable to trafficking. The center is at 213 South Tower Street, and is open Monday-Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Thursday form 2-5 p.m. and Friday by appointment.

The Foothills group is scheduled to provide more information at the Anderson County Library Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. at a public awareness event.
