Anderson County Celebrates Hispanic Heritage

Anderson County celebrated the Fourth Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, with music, food, dancing, activities for kids and more.

The Anderson County Latinx Advisory Council puts it on the event every year.

“We’re really excited about it being our fourth year,” said organizer Maria Ivette Torres-Green. “We have two live bands, a DJ playing, and several food vendors from all over Latin America and Mexico. And we have some wonderful craft researchers as well. And we have a children's area and with the library also doing a bilingual story type.”

Torres-Green said the local Hispanic population finds a great sense of community in the annual event.

“The Hispanic community appreciates being able to celebrate their vast heritage, and we appreciate Anderson County for being a good partner of ours to be able to do that,” said Torres-Green.
