Droves of newcomers have made South Carolina one of the nation's fastest-growing states. As legislators respond to climbing population totals, a bill dubbed the “Yankee tax” could require freshly minted Palmetto State locals to pay $500 total in one-time fees for new driver's licenses and vehicle registration.
Council Oks Sewer Partnership Plan for Green Pond
The resort, located on the property of the old Tiger Cove Campground, will allow the development of sewer service which would also be used by Green Pond Landing and Events center. Green Pond is currently on septic tank, which is always a concern near the lake.

City Approves Sewer Project, Fire Station Paving Project
Paid for largely by funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and the South Carolina Rural Initiative Authority , the city will provide for approximately 4,300 feet of 30” diameter pipe running from the Rocky River Conservatory and northward. The original plan called for an additional 3,000 feet of 24” diameter pipe, but increases in pricing put this part of the project on hold.
