MedShore EMS Training Guarantees a Job
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
MedShore Ambulance is looking for a few good men and women who have a desire for a career in serving the community. To address a shortage of trained emergency medical technicians (EMTs), MedShore Ambulance has established a training school, or "academy," that offers accelerated courses to train and certify new EMTs.
The MedShore EMS training school offers:
• Paid Training: The program pays students an hourly wage while they attend class and complete clinical hours.
• Full-Time Employment: Upon successful completion of the program and passing the required exams, graduates are offered a full-time position with MedShore Ambulance, often with a commitment to work for a minimum of 24 months.
• Partnerships: The training academy has partnered with colleges like Denmark Technical College and Tri-County Technical College to offer the courses. It also collaborates with Anderson University to provide advanced training for paramedics.
• Comprehensive Program: The courses are designed by experienced professionals and follow the National Standard Curriculum. They include classroom instruction, lab simulations, and real-world clinical rotations on 911 ambulances. MedShore often covers the cost of tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and exam fees.
